The first day of Metaltown Open Air saw some kind of "Danish invasion", since there were three bands from Denmark playing. So here's the first one: HATESPHERE. More pics of day 1 and 2 are gonna follow shortly!

We met the legendary Satyricon drummer Frost and tried to use fifteen minutes given us by the label people in the most productive way. Frost was a great company: perfectly polite, extremely intelligent, and very talkative - something any journalist would be happy about. Narrowing his eyes every now and then like a cat and looking more of a model than of a stereotypical metalhead, Frost commented to us on the recent changes in the band"s life and told us everything he had on his mind about those infamous black metal stereotypes.

Last weekend we went on a short trip to Sweden to cover this years' edition of Metaltown Open Air in Gothenburg.
We managed to photograph nearly all the bands playing there, so stay tuned for tons of pictures coming up the next days. So here's the first bunch featuring CHILDREN OF BODOM.

On the 9th of May 2009 the doors of Helsinki’s Nosturi were opened to welcome those metalheads who came to see Embreach, Hateform, MyGrain and Profane Omen playing a gig together. The occasion for this event was Teemu Suominen’s (Metalheim agency) 30th birthday. All of the bands are represented by Metalheim agency and were there to greet the man of the moment.

DEVILDRIVER, 2nd gig within one week, this time at Fete de la musique and DAGOBA pics up.

We attended the Fete de la musique in Thionville to photograph INSANE/SCARRED/DAGOBA and DEVILDRIVER on the Metalstage at Place du Luxembourg. So here's already the first bunch of pics featuring INSANE from France and SCARRED from Luxemburg. Check out the pics (and of course bands, if you don't know them yet! :-)).

Up for some Melodeath from Finland? We caught MYGRAIN at their gig in Nosturi, Helsinki! Stay tuned for loads of pics of various events coming up the next days!

"What comes around goes around" that's what allmighty ANTHRAX sing in "Room For One More" - well true. If you put some great band in an obviously great mood on stage, the audience goes crazy as well and it's lots of fun taking pics. See the result by clicking on the pics! On the 2nd of May 2009 Turmion Kätilöt played an explosive gig at Helsinki’s Virgin Oil Co. ‘Despite some disappointment with the lightning technician’s work, the show was rather impressive. Whenever you go to a Turmion Kätilöt’s gig, you can never be sure about what you are going to see on stage, as it will always be a shocking surprise. Every show has something different in it, like Spellgoth’s outrageous outfits or various acts during the songs, like whipping and other pleasant things for your delight. You might also take it as a warning, if you are a sensitive person and get shocked easily, think twice before going there. But then again, Turmion Kätilöt’s shows are not for wussies.’

MACHINE HEAD played a headliner gig at Rockhal in Luxemburg, since they weren't able to play their support slot for SLIPKNOT last year in December. So here you go for a bunch of pics! Support bands were CALIBAN and MY CITY BURNING - pics coming up soon as well, along with some pics of a little shooting with MCB!

And the last bunch of pics from SUMMER NIGHTS Open Air in Austria. Unfortunately we had to leave quite early that day, so we had to miss KREATOR and some other bands. However, we caught the following bands: EMERGENCY GATE, ALESTORM, ENDSTILLE, BELPHEGOR, EQUILIBRIUM and added some impressions of fans/surroundings to the day 3 gallery as well. Somehow ARCH ENEMY were missing in the gallery of day 2, we added them there now! Check them out!

EMILIE AUTUMN is not just some concert it's like theatre. Music and lots of costumes and stuff to see. Because of that we couldn't simply get away with taking a few shots, no we took tons of them. Great for bringing back some nice memories and giving those, who haven't been there, a rough idea what to expect at an EMILIE concert!

Take some crazy Finish bands, let's say KOTITEOLLISUUS, a cam and go backstage, what does this result in?
